Buying Books Benefits Green Causes

Or, Putting My Money Where My Mouth Is

Long before I became a poet, writer and blogger I was an environmentalist. My first attempt at business was a failed solar hot water company back in the early 80s. It would be many years later before I published my first book, Carrot On A Stick. A couple of years ago I published my 4th, a children’s book titled, Reindeer Tales.

So in keeping with my lifelong dream of making the world green I’ve decided to donate 100% of my publishing royalties to sustainable green causes. That’s 100% of my publishing royalties for as long as I live. From now own every royalty of every copy of every book I ever publish, no matter where you buy it, will go to promote green causes as chosen by the readers of this RecycleBlog.

Royalty checks come about twice a year. Royalties average around $2.50 per book sold. That means that 10 books sold equals $25.00 to green causes and a million copies sold equals $2.5 Million Dollars to be donated to your favorite green non-profit causes. I expect the actual amount will be something between. When the next check comes I’ll ask our readers to tell us where to send the money. And each time I get a reyality check I'll again ask my readers which green non-profit you want me to fund. Until then you can buy Books By Billy at my online store, from Amazon, Borders or anywhere else you can find them. They are also available by special order from any local bookseller.

Now, if it’s okay with you I’ll return to my regular job as a superhero out to make the world forever green and sustainable working in the local recycling center.

Sorry about that last link, I’m blogging on my boss’s dime.
