Going It Alone

Or, The Story Of My Life

When RecycleBill first came up with the idea for International Blog Nothing Week I thought, Billy, this time you're going to make a real difference.

Of course, I was wrong.

I'm usually wrong but you see, this time it's not my fault. Everything I wrote in that post is true. Problem is, other bloggers can't begin to understand how saying nothing at all might be better heard than speaking out as we now do. I guess they never heard of the silent treatment.

You can't argue with someone who doesn't argue back. And anyone who has ever been in a relationship dreads the silent treatment just as the companies I hoped we could target would also dread being targeted by the silent treatment. They're used to the noise but stop the noise and everyone suddenly takes notice.

That's why I can't make a case for International Blog Nothing Week. You see, since no one else in the Blogosphere even wants to talk about not blogging for one week as a means to effect positive change, I'm left to go it alone and fight with only myself. And that, my friends, is the only reason it won't work.
