Home Cooked Meals

Or, Second Helpings?

Tonight we dine on rice and chicken, broccoli with cheese sauce, cucumbers, beans and taders, fresh onions, iced tea and homemade cornbread. Yum, yum!

It looks as if the wild birds are going to get all my blackberries this year just as they got all my mulberries. I covered them but it doesn't seem to be helping. Next year I'll look into bird deterrents. That said, I wouldn't give up fresh groceries from my own back yard for a lifetime of free 5 star gourmet meals.

It's drought season again but I've still about a thousand gallons of rain water in storage. I'm thinking of building a big wishing well near the street as an attractive way of storing water and taking in a few coins.

On Saturday I'll light the charcoal and grill some burgers. Personally, I prefer ground round om a whole wheat bun over steak anytime.
