Or, New Ideas For Old Green Guys?
Sometimes RecycleBill has great original ideas for new green businesses but this idea eluded me altogether until just recently.
Just about 15 miles east of the recycling center where I work is a business called, Prop Tarts where movie makers come to rent props for their work. This is amazing to me because I see many of these same items come through the recycling center on a daily basis and it makes me happy to know that some of them see immortality on the silver screen.
I wonder if the gals at Prop Tarts might be interested in any of our great finds or the military surplus rocket launchers I bought last week. Sorry, they wouldn't sell me any rockets-- just the launchers.

Dear RecycleBill,
Thanks for attaching a link to PropTarts, Inc.on your blog. PropTarts is only just starting to think of itself as a green company, although I suppose we always have been. We actually went in to business because we are packrats who can't bear to throw anything away. Our business rents props and sets to films, commercials, theaters and special events. Our inventory may not look too spectacular - we specialize in Late Century Middle Americana - but we rent it out all the time. Anything we no longer need is given to members of Freecycle.
We are about to become super green. Glencoe Mill in Burlington, where our shop is located, is renovating it's hydroelectric power plant. The energy generated will be sold to Duke Power and through a system of credits, we get to be powered by alternative energy!
I understand you will be helping us out with some used cellphones for an upcoming project, "Hellphone". I look forward to finding out what other kinds of re-cycled goodies you have.
Thanks,
Sarah Costello
