Recycling Isn't Green

Or, Ramblings From A Green Superhero?

Having survived my recent trip to Gilligan's Island I thought I should tell you of the things I learned and some of the things I've known all along. Without with less bashing of the plastics industry I thought it only fair we face the fact that recycling isn't green.

Yeah, I know. I'll explain in this and future posts why I've come to believe that recycling isn't green but first please allow me to remind you that RecycleBill lives and works in the recycling industry so what I plan to impart in this series of short posts is directly related to my experiences in the field.

For example: if recycling were really green then the recycling industry wouldn't be one of the most environmentally regulated industries in the world nor would much of the waste industry be under the control of organized crime as it has been for the last century.

You see, like today, a hundred years ago God fearing, law abiding politicians don't like to get their hands dirty so they turned a blind eye when the mob bosses took over the waste industries in many of America's biggest cities and in many places the grandsons of these underworld millionaires still control much of what we consider to be green industries.

That said, organized crime isn't the focus of this series but you'll have to excuse me now as it's time for me to open the recycling center. You see, the green superhero gig is also pro bono.

You have just read the first article in my series, Recycling Isn't Green Next in the series, Attack Of The Recyclsaurus.
