Wackemall Motored Bikes

Or, The Building Of A Brand

Projects, projects, projects.... RecycleBill loves projects. That's why I'm happy to announce I'm beginning construction of yet another motored bicycle and the continuation of the Wackemall brand of motored bikes.

While I've built several to date I've never been 100% satisfied with the end product. Even the Wackemall 1 for which I received international attention, didn't turn out to be everything I'd hoped it would be. Seems, no matter how hard I try I can always find ways to improve and improve, I do. I guess it will always be that way.

I began building motored bikes with the intention of mass production but competing with Chinese labor and not having millions in the bank makes that impossible so I've decided to spend my time building one-off custom bikes that will be practical, fuel efficient, attractive and easy to maintain. As I finish one I'll ride it while I'm building the next and with any luck someone who thinks getting 150-200 miles per gallon of gasoline is a good idea will buy them. No more airplanes, no trikes, no mini cars, I'm sticking with 2 wheelers.

I don't expect to ever get rich building motored bikes and I don't expect to take over the industry with my hobby but like the auto makers and motorcycle companies of 100 years ago a new industry will arise from the efforts of myself and hundreds of other backyard builders nationwide. And with just a little luck I'll discover some simple change which will raise the bar and improve the efforts of myself and builders everywhere.

This next bike will be built in the style of a turn of the 20th century motorcycle with low voltage digital lighting, quality brakes, modern EPA Approved engine and an electrical system that is both inexpensive and reliable. And yes, it will be for sale.

Cool, Billy. Best of luck. I can hardly wait to see what you come up with.

Well it won't be as outrageous as the Wackemall-1 but it will still be fun and practical.

Right. Whimsical may get attention, but the sensible and practical thinkgs you describe, like LED lights and hyper effeciency, sound like the kind of things someone may seriously consider as benefits to modern transportation, i.e. want to buy.
